Architect Specializing in Designing Veterinary Teaching Facilities

Experience Across a Range of Projects

I have a diverse range of experience in designing a wide variety of project types since 1989. I am a licensed architect with a focus on planning veterinary teaching facilities for numerous universities across the United States, since 2005. These include NC State, UF, AU, LSU, UGA, UC Davis, UAGM, Rowan University, and TAMU.

My experience and unique insight into the operations side of these facilities allows me to create innovative and functional designs that cater to the specific needs of veterinary clinicians, staff, and students.

A Unique Perspective on Veterinary Teaching Facility Design

My role on the UGA project spanned from programming & design through the construction document phases with the commissioned architecture firm, then as the primary representative of the College of Veterinary Medicine during construction, move-in, start-up and warranty phases.

While working for the college, my primary responsibilities encompassed construction administration, equipment planning, procurement/installation coordination and facility management. I gained extraordinary insight into the use of the facility from the operations side that will be most useful in the design of future veterinary teaching facilities.

“It is one thing to plan and design a facility, but to implement it and then be on the operations side is most valuable in understanding every aspect of designing a facility for animal care.”
